Just so everyone knows, the draft order will be determined randomly by a third party site and the MINOR league draft will NOT be a snake draft.
It will follow the traditional order 1-14, 1-14, 1-14, etc.

I think we should discuss this It should be snake in year one. Or it should match last team in gets first pick...on down Those teams who got in the league early and could pick from the best teams could also get first overall picks in these rounds. That is too much of a potential advantage
Just my opinion but random and non snake in year one with select keepers is potentially too loaded.

If this open for discussion, I am in agreement with the Reds. A traditional draft is fine for when we are going in the inverse order of the standings because last place obviously needs the most help. But I think a snake draft is the fairest in our first year of competition.

Another thing is the first few picks are going to get a player who will be eligible for a call-up in a few weeks whereas the rest of the picks might not be eligible until after the All-Star break or later. Just something I think we should discuss.

why not go by the order that the teams we picked came in last season. use winning percentage so the draft would look like this baltimore 0.407 milwaukee 0.475 anaheim 0.494 LAD 0.494 detroit 0.5 colorado 0.512 st louis 0.531 boston 0.549 texas 0.556 cinncinatti 0.562 atlanta 0.562 san francisco 0.568 new york 0.586 tampa bay 0.593

I get your point about winning % and would support that if we were protecting more of the roster, but we are only protecting 6. Teams like Milwaukee have a much better 6 protects than all but a couple of the teams on down the line. In this type of league the sooner you get in the better your base is. Just an FYI...this is not self serving since I was about the 8th or 9th team to join. Middle of the pack so its a 50-50 deal for me. So I vote that we do pure snake with randomization. Or straightline based on last when a team was picked. Example, if Boston had been picked second then the owner dropped out and a new owner scooped it up, then that would still be the second to last team to draft. Not sure if that has happened here or not, but it makes it fairer.

I see what you guys are saying and I am fine with it. We can definitely change the order to a snake draft.
I would normally put up a poll to see if we wanted the order randomized or sorted by winning percentage but in order to expedite this process, I am just going to go ahead and make it randomized. I am going to a website right now to do it. It will send everyone an email and then I will post the order online so the trading can commence.
Sorry for the delays everyone.

You have to also keep in mind that winning percentage don't include cap space, like my team is limited to who i can pick because of my keepers salary i would be hanicaped if i got the 2nd to last pick and can't hardly pick becuase of my limited cap space I think when 6 keepers, salary, and minor league picks are involved, random is the fairest way

I'm not complaining about that I'm saying that winning percentage doesn't reflect the 6 keepers, your team salary and other factors that make a team better than the other plus i was the last guy to get a team i would rather have the yanks then a sorry team with no keeper imo.

I used the website to randomize the draft. You can verify that I did so by visiting the site.
I will do the same thing when we are ready to do the major league draft. The order on ESPN is incorrect for the moment because it has been marked under our LM tools as ¨Determined by the LM¨ so when the time comes, I will randomly generate that draft order as well and submit the verification link.
Both drafts will be a snake draft style. Good luck to everyone.
