Chris Davis is my extension however I am unsure of the salary.
I waited to see if it made sense watching another team do it but it threw me off. I am sure it is me making the mistake but the rules state 2x the existing salary or the salary from the previous season from Cots, whichever is greater. Reds extended Encarnacion at 2.5 mil from a listed 1.25 last year. Cots had Encarnacion at 3.5 mil in 2012/ 8 mil in 2013 in which Cots is greater. So my thought was that Encarnacion would have to be extended at 2x the 2013 contract per Cots which would be 16 million since 2013 is now the previous season.
So I think I am supposed to sign Chris Davis at 1 yr 6.6 mil (2013 3.3 mil per Cots) which is 2x the contract.
Please let me know how wrong I am so I can fix it.

You are probably right. I had to re-read the rule after seeing this. For some reason I always thought it was 2x the contract we had on the player. After seeing the JJ Hardy extension I didn't bother looking it up.
The only question is which season do we use? 12 or 13?
I will amend based on Brew's interpretation.
