Rangers
The Texas Rangers should change his name to the Atlanta Braves while the team is available. This team has 20 current or former Braves between its 2 rosters. This year's draft included Hurston Waldrep, JR Ritchie, and Owen Murphy. Since the Braves are typically a good team having 20 current or former players isnt the worst idea except on days off. A starting lineup of Shea Langeliars, Freddy Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Nolan Arenado, Dansby Swanson, is a solid all-around infield. The outfield leaves a little something to be desired with Mickey Moniak, Mitch Haniger, Akil Badoo, Manny Margot, Drew Waters and Michael Harris.
Like everyone, pitching was the offseason plan. I should say healthy pitching, as the Rangers tend to over work their pitchers and they end up having "the surgery". But in an attempt to start the season with healthy arms the Rangers signed Lucas Giolito and traded for Luis Severino and Brady Singer. This staff has several question marks coming into the season like where is Ian Anderson? Will Mike Soroka ever start again? Can Luis Severino and Graham Asscrack be better than they have been?
There is some promise in the minor leagues here. Hurston Walkdrep, JR Ritchie, Owen Murphy, Max Meyer, and Spencer Schwellenbach give hope that some pitching might not be too far away.
I do not see this Rangers team as a playoff contender this season with the questions on the pitching staff and the uncertainty of the outfield, I think it will be a fun season to watch his Braves but not his Rangers. Good Luck Rangers!
